These are some of my favorite shots from the horse show last weekend!
To see more of each rider CLICK HERE! Tomorrow I'll be teaching two workshops at Pittsburg State University's High School Art Day! They'll be on how to mat and frame artwork!
Here's another photo from the Pine Valley Equestrian Center horse show!
The rest will be up later this week! I spent the day at Pine Valley Equestrian Center taking photos at the horse show! I'm in the process of editing the photos and will have them posted later this week.
I spent a majority of the day cutting mat board...80 pieces to be more exact. I am teaching a workshop, to a bunch of high schoolers, on how to mat and frame artwork.
Pittsburg State University's Art Department puts on a High School Art Day (HSAD) every semester. Hundreds of students from around the area come and learn about the department and different types of art. This year HSAD will be giving various workshops that are run by current PSU art students. My work shop will deal with the different ways of presenting artwork. Each student in my workshop will get to measure out and assemble their own window mat. It is a very simple way to display artwork and a skill every art student should know. This week in my printmaking class, we finally got to use the letterpress. Being the stereotypical "horse girl" in the class, I decided to print my horses show name, Dixie Land Delight.
I also, made the paper that it's printed on a couple weeks ago. It's made out of natural fibers, along with some of my horses mane and tail hair, to give it an interesting texture and look. |
